That may have come out the wrong way. I may have made it sound like my family drives me to drinking. This is entirely not the case. I love my family tremendously. We are very close, and we get completely smashed, play lots of guitar, and sing our belligerant asses off during the holidays.

I am a bad man! I had a drink (or two) last night and sang some Karaoke.

It's all Beth's fault! And since I know that she reads this now I can say things like that! *kissy kissy* :)


Work work work work work! Man I am glad it is TuesThursday. Tomorrow will be WedFriday, for which I am thankful. A nice, short, holiday week -- and a nice, long, Final Fantasy Online weekend.

Oh who am I kidding. I'm going to be hanging out with my family.

I think I am going to write a book called, "OH, The JOYS of Unix."

"Why," you may ask? Well, I shall tell you!! I shall tell you now!!! And the reason, is thus:

Because in Unix, I do not get told, "ACCESS DENIED" when I am logged in on a superuser account and am trying to kill a process.

Windows, that is another story! It makes me feel less "super" than I should normally be when I am a "superuser" -- because even though it tries to cast it's "superuser illusion" upon me, in the end I am but a simple-minded slave to it's omnipotent whim.

It constantly reminds of this by telling me things like, "ACCESS DENIED" or "FATAL EXCEPTION ERROR DUE TO SOMETHING THAT I, THE OPERATING SYSTEM DID INCORRECTLY AND AM NOW BLAMING ON YOU, THE INDOLENT BIT OF MEAT-WARE!!"

Less alcohol seems to put me in a better mood in the daytime.

It was busy again this week. I was sick for a few days, but the doctor cured that with some antibiotics. Hopefully I'll get in to the studio on Monday to get those promised vocal tracks recorded. I know, I know, you've heard it before!! But REALLY, I will try.

I have decided to stop drinking. At least, I've decided to stop drinking so much. I'll have a beer at home every now and then perhaps, but on the whole, I consume way too much alcohol and it's starting to effect my life. SO, I am quitting. This will also cut down on my cigarette intake, since the only time I seem to smoke is when I drink.

With the loss of my beloved alcohol, I will be spending the weekend at home playing Final Fantasy Online like the loser that I will eventually not be.

MY! What a busy week this has been! I must apologize for the infrequent posts. I am a bad, bad man.

First, I must thank the new visitors of the website this week. I've had a lot of hits from first-time surfers. I hope you enjoyed the music, or at least what I had to say.

Secondly, I had a wonderful burst of inspiration this week, and so I sat down in the chill evenin' *romps up belt* drinking a Corona and smoking a marlboro while I wrote a new song. I'm still ironing it out, and I don't know if it is Stillife material -- it's kind of slow and sarpy(tm) -- but I like what I've got so far.

Ack! 5:30 has rolled around, just as I was getting started! Inspiration is around the corner again, and so I must jet!

Halloween was great. Lots o' fun! Ended up in some pretty interesting places...

...Woke up in stranger ones still!

Summary of my week:

Monday -- Mostly sucked, until I got off work. Then I went drinking and woke up in someone else's bed.

Tuesday -- Hung over, badly. Thankfully, I requested the day off from work in advance.

Wednesday -- Relatively uneventful. However, Wednesday was the day I decided I am really pissed off about getting electrically shocked by every god damned car I get out of.

Thursday -- More electrical shocks from cars. This time, it started happening on more than one.

Friday -- Argued with the IT department at work for a while. Realized again that it was pointless, and contemplated jabbing tiny painful push-pins into their eyes...

...ended up making a mess of my cubicle wall instead.

I didn't take my lunch until 3pm. On the bright side, the afternoon has gone much faster.

Now -- Final Fantasy Online came out a week ago I'm told. And now, I rush to the store to buy it. Tonight, I shall dine with the brain of the internet, satisfying my adventurous needs in the arms of an undiscovered country!
